A building permit has been granted in spring 2025 for a battery energy storage system (BESS) to be located near the new substation under construction in Kukonkylä, Sievi, in the Järvineva area. The total power capacity of the system will be 125 MW with an energy capacity of 250 MWh. Detailed technical planning is progressing in accordance with the conditions set in the building permit.
